Outside The World Of Coca Cola

The connection between Santa and Coke laid bare. Wonder what would MACC have to say about this?

Amazing capture! The colors are brillant, very artsy.
Ayush Basu: Thank you very much, Frances

Ayush Basu: I certainly was drawn in by the paintbrush style rich colours

Coca-Cola can get away with murder, Ayush, regrettably.
Ayush Basu: So I have heard Ginnie, and all of it because its supposed to be 'good business'.

It is intriguing artwork but I couldn't imagine an advertisement such as this being used in 2013
Ayush Basu: It was actually on a globe outside the Coca Cola Centre, Chris

Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission = MACC?

Yes, Coke Cola created Santa http://collectibles.about.com/od/holidaycollectin1/ig/Christmas-Index-Image-Gallery/Coca-Cola-Santa-1931.htm

It is interesting to realise that a mere ad campaign has grown into this absolutely oversize urban legend. Imagine a society that frowns on parents who tries to tell that an advertisement image is not reality. Every year there is a new bunch of movies, trying to sell the jolly guy as real.

You may know that his reindeer was invented by a Hallmark campaign a few years later.
Ayush Basu: Mothers Against Coca Cola
Thank you for the informative links Louis, they were news for me. But I am aware, like you said, of the clever marketing and advertising strategies over the last several decades.
I think he'd rather have a mince pie and a glass of sherry
Ayush Basu: I am not sure about him but I certainly prefer your options grin
Just imagine how blown out he would be if every child left him a glass of Coke on his rounds smile
Ayush Basu: and the marketing people would be all the more happier for that I suppose

This looks familiar, Ayush
Ayush Basu: It was quite new for me though
Who would want this if they could have a decent 12 year old malt grin
Ayush Basu: You make a strong point smile
Excellent capture Ayush! Well done.
Ayush Basu: Thank you very much, Richard
How many different flavours of Coke did you see in there?
Ayush Basu: I took one look at the miles long queue and never made it inside.
it's a very old sign that you have captured very well Ayush... but to me Coca Cola is the Grinch that stole Christmas....petersmile
Ayush Basu: I suppose so Peter, thank you for your input
