It is said that Chengo Ho, Chinese equivalent of Marco Polo and an admiral of the navy, visited Malacca several times. He eventually got a Chinese princess to marry the local Sultan. Along with the princess came her rather large retinue and they settled on a hill known as Bukit Cina. This spot is at the base of Bukit Cina and is dedicated to the Chinese who perished during the Japanese rule of Malacca.
