Melacca

I recently made a short trip to Melacca in Malaysia. I thought this would be a good opener for this series. It was taken around the river. Both banks have rows of two or three storeyed historical buildings and are interspersed by some hotel buildings.

Yes...nice opener! I really like the greens here, Ayush.
Ayush Basu: Thank you Ray, its good to see that greenery did not fall casualty for the sake of development.

Nice view Ayush! and good start indeed.
Ayush Basu: Thanks Anupam, stay tuned for more
Nice! I like the lushness!
Ayush Basu: Thank you Elizabeth, good to see that they did not indiscriminately chop down trees to make way roads, buildings and whatnot
Nicely shot. That flag sure pops out with its intense colour.
Ayush Basu: Thank you Michael, it was the flag actually which drew me to take the shot

It's probably somewhere I will nver go so I look forward to the series. It's interestingt osee the angle on the saellite dish; so very different to the inclination on those in the UK.
Ayush Basu: If there is a remote possibility that you may change your mind, then Malacca could be a good point to start grin Very observant of you on the dish but I have no idea what is the inclination like in the UK.
I will look forward to the rest as the only thing I know about Malaysia is they make Proton cars !
Ayush Basu: Oh yes, you take a look at all the taxis and you're left in no doubt whatsoever, which part of the world you are in.
Looks like a green and pleasant land. Nice opener Ayush
Ayush Basu: Many thanks CM. Appreciate your comment
A great start Ayush, I do like the light smile
Ayush Basu: I am very pleased to hear that Martin, thanks.
Love all the tropical greenery which we buy in stores for house plants.
Ayush Basu: There seemed to be a high emphasis on keeping the lush greenery well trimmed and it was all quite appealing

Big flag,good colours
Ayush Basu: Thanks Vintage
Like others Malaysia is not uppermost in my knowledge brain cells so I look forward to what is coming, a fine start, I guess that is their national flag.
Ayush Basu: It was a memorable time for me and I think it should reflect in the photos. Malacca is full of history and culinary delights.
Ideal if you want a house in the tropics!
Ayush Basu: And the river right behind me Tom

Is this a two story house or a single Juan. Also, what was this one used for?
Ayush Basu: It is a single storey house Chad, I suspect it is some kind of a warehouse or a workshop. It was closed, perhaps with it being a Saturday

Interest building residential or commercial? Those shutters look fairly serious.
Ayush Basu: It did not appear residential to me John

I had to look up where Melakka is smile Looks a bit like a shopfront with the rolling shutters.
Ayush Basu: Its a fairly large city in Malaysia, Louis. It was my first visit and I found it certainly appealing. I suspect it was some kind of a workshop but was closed being a weekend.
A wonderful opener indeed Ayush!
Ayush Basu: Hope the rest of the series can hold your attention smile
