Seen here are some road side shops and 'mom-and-pop' stores, that were propbably around since before the advent of malls and large scale shopping complexes. I am sure their margins have dropped significantly in recent years. Yet, for millions of Indians, these shops are an economic source of their essential requirements. On a value-for-money scale, some gastronimical items [chicken rolls, chowmein and potato chops to name a few] are actually rated higher when compared to those from boutique eateries and highly regarded restaurants.
