photoblog image Blue Hour 2

Blue Hour 2

A view from the ninth floor through wide angle lens. I wanted to take more of the housing estate and the street below, hence a tilted down angle. That resulted in the vertical lines of the buildings splay out upwards. The street however does curve like that. Not a result of barrel distortion.

You have created I think what they call the keystone effect Ayush - anyway it's a very nice picture

The wide-angle view gives this scene a good perspective, Ayush. The blue hour is fun. I'll have to think about that more often.

Small aperture with long exposure - is that it? Or are there filters involved as well? I like how you have clear detail in the dark parts as well as the lit streets.
It would be possible to correct the angles but then it wouldn't look right.
There is a little program called ShiftN which is a freebie and is good at correcting distortions like this. mind you this looks fine as it is really.
It's worked out very well, Ayush. The keystone distortion feature in Elements would sort out the lean, but you'd lose some of the foreground.
ooooh baby, i hear you spend night time, wrapped like candy in a blue blue neon glow ~ Blondie

great shot!! the stuff inspired music is made of smile
The distortion works pretty well here Ayush!
It turned out great Ayush... the buildings look like Gotham City that you would see a comic book... nice effect....petersmile

A great composition. The amber street lighting provides a good base for those splayed building.
Crackingl I really like this shot.
