photoblog image "Am I on time?"

"Am I on time?"

"... that better not be a call"

Cycling is getting more and more popular, reflected by the mass cycling events and marathons. The more serious participants put in a lot of effort and preparation behind such events.

On a separate note though, there are a new breed of zombies: smartphone zombies, people who are out walking on the streets, tottering unsteadily with heads looking down in illuminated devices, unaware that they are crossing streets and vehicles are missing them by inches. Seen above is one such zombie on wheels.

I am afraid that sickness has become a pandemic, and there seems at this stage to be no vaccination available.
Great shot - maybe he's texting his race time to his fans? I agree with you on the smartphone zombies. I don't even want to learn t text!

I bet he has his damn phone with hhim when he's in the bath Ayush
Yes I see a lot of young people walking around looking at the toys in the hand, bit of a sad habit really isn't it.
wonderful panning shot Ayush. the blurred smear of people in the background conveys the frenetic pace of modern life that mobile phones are a big part of...!
don't get me startedgrin I saw a runner the other day.....there she was, all the gear, vital signs being monitored by a device strapped to her arm, ears plugged into the iplayer running along by the road breathing in the traffic fumes. There was a nice park across the road with trees and grass, why not run around that?
Or, "I'm on my bike, be home in ten minutes" smile

smile A great shot and I hate these zombies. They give 'us' (I try cycle every Sunday morning) a bad name......
I only have a Garmin for the heartbeat and distance. Not visible though.

I like the implied movement of the background! I hope he doesn't hit a tree while texting!
Phonemania is all over the world Ayush. Great motion effect!
