Mabuhay

Taken at the domestic terminal of Ninoy Aquino International Airport, whiling away some time waiting for a flight to Calbayog City in the Samar province. It has been close to 10 years since I last ever used a payphone and I assume that could be the same for a lot of other people. Yet the humble payphone survives and will perhaps continue to do so for some more time.

Nice shot Ayush! I sometimes miss the "clank" of change in the payphone, and the feel of the push buttons!
it is an enduring piece of technology Ayush... my first job was for the Bell Telephone Co. collecting the money from these machines... i ran 100 miles south and east one week and 150 miles west and back the next... i got to see a lot of the county in my youth... i loved the job!!!....petersmile

Lovely POV, Ayush, but I didn't know pay phones even exited anymore! Or worked!

Glad to see they're still around Ayush. One day you will turn up only to find they've gone for good...

They are either new, Ayush, or the locals respect them.

At one time, these were a lifeline. Now of course so many people have mobile phones.. even me! These look very clean.

They are still around in SA, although there are a lot less pay phone stations than 10 years ago.
now you come to mention it I can't recall the last time I used one!
Long may they last - given dead batteries and no signal!
Yes there doesn't seem to be many of these left round where I live.
The few that are left here don't seem to accept coins any more. Credit cards only, I suppose. Fine POV.

Agree with you Ayush prefer these to mobiles that ever body seems to be walking about with one stuck to there ear.
Yes, I can't remember the last time I used a payphone, still a useful backup when travelling.
Gleaming new phones.....I can't say I've seen new looking payphones for ages! A very nice composition Ayush smile
