Most tricycles are built around Honda 125 or 150 cc bikes. Apart from the regular dials and gauges on the bike dash, no other enhancements are added for the driver's benefit, except the curtains, to be spread out and tied with strings in the event of rainfall. Safety standards are probably not enforced that strictly. But then, there are not too many crashes or accidents at the speeds they normally operate.
I spied an idle an tricycle and hopped in to take a closer look. This particular vehicle has been in regular service for over fifteen odd years. Considering the amount of input in terms of operating costs and maintenance and the yeoman servie delivered, I would say that they are some of the most efficient vehicles around.
