The Gopuram of Sri Vadapathira Kaliamman Temple

Taken at the Sri Vadapathira Kaliamman Temple. This flute playing figure represents Krishna, who is supposed to be an incarnation of Lord Vishnu and in his earthly form was most often considered to be a cowherd, thus the depiction of a cow behind him. He is also generally regarded as a prankster.

Handsome lad, and he appears to have that mini-herd under good control, Ayush.

It appears you have shot this picture at night?
Ayush Basu: As per the mythological stories, in his youth he was extremely good looking and quite popular with the lasses of the village.

Yes, this was taken around 7 to 8-ish in the evening; some more images will follow from the same place.
I'd agree he looks quite handsome!
Ayush Basu: Glad you thought so. And a lot of other remarkable characters around too!

With all that time on his hands, herding the cows, I'm sure he thought up many a prank, Ayush. I love it.
Ayush Basu: Apparently his pranks would exasperate all those around him including his foster mom [his birth mom gave him away to the foster mom to ensure his safety]

He does look very appealing, and not god-like at all in his guise as a flute palyer
Ayush Basu: Thanks for the comment smile

Ayush Basu: Stay tuned for that grin

I wonder why the depict him as a green man. Or is it the night light playing games?
Ayush Basu: Actually he is depicted with dark, earthy skin tones. Probably an effect of the warm yellowish light on the bluish skin tones[?]
Great toning Ayush & very good narrative as well!
Ayush Basu: Glad you liked it Juan Carlos
Lovely shot.
Ayush Basu: Thanks Tom!
Lovely capture with beautiful tones Ayush. Many thanks for the narrative!
Ayush Basu: Glad you liked it, I myself find these tales fascinating.
I like the idea of a deity as a bit of a prankster
Ayush Basu: You perhaps wouldn't if you had been at the receiving end tongue
