Uttamayanmuni Entrance

Right... enough of cemeteries and graveyards. This Thai style Buddhist temple is almost in my backyard. And I was completely unaware of its existence for about the year and a half that I have been staying at my current location.

Beautiful, colorful, intricate design.
A beautiful entryway Ayush! We often don't know our own "backyards" for a long time - we tend to go with what we know! But obviously, venturing out of your routine has yielded a marvelous discovery!

It looks wonderful & inviting Ayush
The glitter is overpowering Ayush.
rich of color and ornaments
Fantastic! It is funny how often we miss things on our own doorstep!
Do you know which sect it is, Ayush? Looks rather flamboyant, which might suggest the Mahayana???
Wonderful image Ayush. I love the rich colours!
Magnificent entrance.
Observant sort of bloke, aren't you! Vibrant colours look great.

Those colours sees to be popping out of the greyish sky background, Ayush. Such a different entrance for a graveyard.

The swastika used in Buddhist art and scripture is known as a manji (whirlwind), and represents Dharma, universal harmony, and the balance of opposites.

The swastika drew my attention and I googled 'Buddhist swastika'. Surprising how many descriptions there are. The above is one of them.
