Balancing act

Seen at a show in the Singapore Zoo. This was really a pleasure to watch and I think the entire audience watched with bated breath. So next time, if you see a four tonne pachyderm lumbering along slowly, show some respect :)

It is not so unusual to see one lumbering down the footpath towards you in a Bangkok street, Ayush.

I always show respect...partly due to the fact that I am insignificant by comparison, sizewise, but also due to the fact that their life is not easy.
Ayush Basu: quite true. the needs and interests of humans and animals in general clash quite often
I would show this pachyderm the most respect Ayush... he is magnificent... and i am sure that his stance is not easy or natural to him... great capture....petersmile
Ayush Basu: without seeing this show, i would not have imagined they are capable of such a feat. smile
I wish I could keep my balance like that in my wheel chair

I have just been catching up on your latest archive, Ayush, and enjoying it very much. I particularly like these two elephant pictures
I was wondering from yesterday's shot what that log encased in cement was for. Now I know. I'm not sure I could do that.
That elephant has clearly had some practice, Ayush!
Quite fascinating to see this huge animal doing it!
Fine capture Ayush.

How amazing smile
These Elephants must be very well trained to do this sort of thing, as long as it is done humanely.

It's amazing that such a large animal can stand and balance on such a small stock. Nicely captured image.
Just gorgeous, yet again!!
I certainly will Ayush! I think elephants are so incredible - your pictures show just a few reasons why!
looks like Peter Pan!
I love this elephant!!!
Wow--how the elephant could make it done -- I respect his great skill. adorable.
Ayush Basu: Yes, I just hope it was not the result of a lot of beatings or cruelty
