Will be putting up some shots from Chiang Mai, Thailand. I had a great time and bring lovely memories of the people and places. Having seen so many elephants, real ones as well as those featured on t-shirts, souvenirs and load bearing columns of wats, I decided to kick start the series with this gentle giant.
Taken at the Wat Chiang Man, the first wat commissioned when the city of Chiang Mai was founded by the King Mengrai. These life sized elephant pillars support the 'chedi' (bell shaped mound ).
