photoblog image Guardian Lion

Guardian Lion

Another HDR from the same location as before. This is at the entrance to the miniature garden section which temporarily has closed for renovations. This fierce lion signifies a fearsome guardian and figure of authority. Usually they are shown in pairs, with the male holding the globe and the female holding a cub.

Des photos très puissantes. J'aime beaucoup. La statue, le ciel, les contrastes, tout est très réussi !
Ayush Basu: merci beaucoup smile
I really like your perspective on this Ayush- and that you included that amazing sky!

Cannot remember seeing a lion quite like this one. Nice image.
We have some of these lions cast in Bronze around the Chinese Arch in Liverpool, very photogenic indeed but not with such a good background as you have here. Nice HDR but the distant sky does need a bit work work as the highlights look the wrong colour for me. When this happens to me I generally reduce the Highlights saturation slider to reduce the effect, doesn't always work so then you just have to play with the other sliders to reduce the false colours.

The shot is highlighting the main object, the sculpture of the lion. Yes same idea the theme of male and female lion pair of sculpture I saw in China.
In your shot the perspective of road gradually vanishing to rear portion and back ground of cloudy sky all together made a real picture.Brilliant!
