Taken from my stock of images, this one here shows a canal passing through one of the districts of Västerås. In peak winter, it was covered by a thick layer of ice and accumulated snowfall. Sometimes the only colour you could see outside would be the buildings which are often painted in these shades of red.
Over time, these canals got littered with empty beer bottles, cans, plastic trash and discarded boxes, which would be quite a turn off after having seen the pristine whiteness of the snow on the frozen canal.
