Heaven

This is the ceiling panel at one of the temples in Beijing's Temple of Heaven, also know as the Altar of Heaven. It is a veritable riot of colours up there, with each colour supposed to symbolize something distinct. It is said that emperors prayed here along with elaborate rituals and hoped for a good harvest for the whole kingdom. 

 

Additionally, Beijing also has temples dedicated to the sun, moon and earth.

That IS colourful.
I thionk I would have cropped it a bit more, the right and left red lamps are distracting from the marvelous pattern
I missed going inside the Temple of Heaven, just saw it from outside but can imagine its beauty based on this.
