Snapshots from Deutschland: Jakobstrasse, Aachen

A cobble stoned street in the historic city centre. If you walk to west, this street is minutes away from the Aachen city hall and dotted by bistros, bakeries, sport stores and toy shops. One of the star attractions would be the place selling models of trains, just about any trains; railcars and locos from Deutsche Bahn, SNCF, SNCB, NS and ÖBB. Not just kids, grown up men and women are regularly seen flattening their noses on the plate glass, peering at the models displayed inside.

I went to Aachan back in the 60's, far too long ago to remember what it looked like apart from the cathedral.
Ayush Basu: Thanks a lot for stopping by. Brian, Aachen probably hasn't changed much at least not in the city centre. I believe it looks quite a bit like it did some centuries ago except from the interior of the buildings. I feel if there was any place in Germany that I would love to visit again, it would have to be Aachen
A superb burst of colour, Ayush. I remember the cathedral, too, and a Christmas market.

This is what I love about Europe, Ayush...street scenes like this, especially in autumn.

The fall colors are always photogenic. The effect of 2 panels "prohibited " is very nice.
I wish I could be standing in this place. I love the depth. Really pretty shot.
Really nice shot--I like composition and all the warm colors. The dash of light in the treetops is beautiful.
The bursts of sunlight and the cleanly swept street are wonderful contrasts. Beautiful shot.
