Snapshots from Deutschland: Talent in Cologne

Situated in the industrialized region of Nord Rhein Westfalen, Cologne or Köln is one of the largest metropolitan areas of Germany and has a very close competition with the capital of the NRW state, Düsseldorf. 


The train station is a very important local, national and international hub, connecting Germany to Paris, Brussels and Amsterdam. Seen here is one end of the Köln Hauptbahnhof and trains going in this direction need to cross the Hohenzollernbrücke bridge crossing the river Rhine. The red train seen here is known as the Talent (not because it possesses significant innate abilities) owing to its German acronym.

I LOVE the trains and train stations of Europe, Ayush. This is a fine example of why!
Great image bursting with interest and colour
Very nice - trains and train stations are great subjects for photography.
We travelled via here in 2003 and had time to visit the Cathedral nearby, two lovely buildings next to each other.
Really well composed and great light as well. Excellent shot!

This is a great imaginative shot Ayush....it is hard to believe that they know which wire goes with which train....a lot of power for the people movers.....petersmile
