This site in Brussels has a long history, first as a chapel built here as early as the 9th century. Building of the present church in Gothic style was carried out sometime later, stained glass windows were added in the 16th century. I cannot be sure of the others depicted in this glass work, but the one shown with a sword and a globe in each hand could be Karl der Groß, better known as Charlemagne.
