This 1983 installation called "Baer de Woers", by sculptor Hay Mansvelders is in memory of a local resident Lambert Francken (1843-1916). Apparently, he had a reputation for suspending sausages from his home ceiling, to keep them away from rodents. He was also known for his love for the occassional tipple and well dressed participation in the annual galas, complete with a tie, vest, coat with white handkerchief and a straw hat. Today this statue stands on Jodenstraat of Venlo.
